Bring a Bottle
We bring a bottle and talk to someone in their own space.
Working brief
The idea
Coming · In development
- Core idea
- We bring a bottle and talk to someone in their own space.
- Format
- Podcast + video
- Example angle
- A winemaker in the cellar, a bartender before service, a tattoo artist in the studio, a vintage dealer among the racks. The bottle opens the conversation; the room tells the rest.
- Next action
- Record a pilot with a Montréal producer or wine bar we already have proof for, then decide on a season of twelve.
Each episode
- One 45–60 minute conversation, audio and video
- Three to five vertical clips
- One written piece on isitfunky
Episode structure
- 01The bottleWhy we chose this bottle for this person, said at the door.
- 02The spaceA walk through their room: the cellar, the bar, the studio, the shop.
- 03Three questionsWhere they started, what they refuse to do, what they're working on now.
- 04The pourWe open it together. A taste and a reaction, not a tasting note contest.
- 05What nextWhat should people see or drink next? Their answer, in their words.
- 06RecommendationsEvery place, producer and person they name, linked to its isitfunky page where we have one.
On isitfunky
Every episode page connects to the rest of the map.
- The bottle

- The space
- Links to the venue or the guest's profile.
- The crawl
- A short crawl built from the guest's recommendations.
House rules
- Guests are chosen editorially. Appearing never buys a Funk50 place, a badge or a verdict.
- Paid episodes made with hotels or brands are labelled as paid, on screen and in the notes.
- Every guest and every location signs a release. No one under the legal drinking age appears in an episode that shows alcohol.
No episodes yet
The format is written and the first guests will come from Montréal. Nothing is recorded yet. Episodes will appear here when they exist.
