What it is and who it is for
isitfunky answers one question: where can I drink or buy natural wine, and how do you know? It is for people choosing where to go in a city, for the venues and producers behind the glass, and for writers and assistants who need a source they can check. Also known as "isitfunky?", "Is It Funky", "IsItFunky", "isitfunky.com", "isitfunky natural wine index".
How we know: proof on file
A venue is proven only when there is evidence that it pours natural wine: its own website, its wine list naming natural producers, a named publication or natural-wine importers' stockist lists. Every venue page shows its reasons, the source link and the date we last checked. One importer listing alone (“carries natural wine”) is a lighter mark and is not counted as proven. The evidence dataset.
The Funk Score and the badges
The Funk Score (0 to 100) adds a venue's proof up as points anyone can check, shown with its breakdown. The stamps and the badge say how far the proof goes: proof on file, a proven list, checked by an editor, and a wax seal for venues we visited in person (dated; it lapses after 12 months). We publish no ratings or reviews of our own.
No paid placement
Rankings are by strength of proof, never popularity, ratings or payment. Venues can buy tools and labelled features; none of it changes their proof, their stamp or their Funk Score.
The producer graph
Wine lists and importer stockist lists connect producers to the venues that pour them. Each producer page shows the proven venues whose own lists name that producer, so you can go from a bottle you liked to where it is poured. Importers and agencies are listed with what we read from them, and the supply chain shows each step from vineyard to glass, with published markup ranges and their sources.
Fairs and events
The fairs calendar lists natural-wine fairs and salons, each checked against the fair's own site. Venues post tastings and events on their pages.
