Gift a Glass / For partners

Connect the visit.

IsItFunky connects a recommendation to a real visit. People discover a place, send someone an invitation, and redeem a clearly defined gift through a participating venue. Partners help that happen: technology, hospitality and campaigns.

Montréal pilot in preparation. No integration is live yet.

Three ways to work with us

Who we're talking to

POS and gift-card providers

Bring a curated gifting and discovery channel to participating merchants.

Hotels and hospitality groups

Give guests a useful neighbourhood welcome: a concierge guide and, where it fits, a prepaid glass nearby.

Brands and employers

Send thoughtful, attributable gifts, or host a defined experience. Anything alcohol-related is reviewed before it goes out.

A shortlist from public documentation, not a compatibility list. Evidence is what a vendor documents; readiness is where an isitfunky integration stands. Each product family is assessed on its own.

Integration lifecycle

From candidate to production

  1. Candidate · everything today
  2. Discovery
  3. Contracted
  4. Sandbox tested
  5. Pilot
  6. Production
  7. Paused

A vendor’s documentation is not a sandbox test. A system moves past candidate only with a real conversation, past contracted only with a signed agreement, and to production only after tested redemption, reversal and reconciliation with venue staff. We start with five bars, learn their tills and providers, and automate the combination they actually use.

The question we ask every provider
Can we issue IsItFunky-branded digital gifts, display them in Apple Wallet, redeem them through your existing POS integrations across independently owned venues, and reconcile each venue’s payout? Which countries, POS versions, APIs, fees and approvals apply?

Then: sandbox access, scopes, seller permissions, certification, install and per-location costs, item-level entitlements, balance / authorise / redeem / reverse endpoints, idempotency, webhooks, settlement and issuer responsibility, support, and termination and export rights.

Brands, producers and creators · Co-hosted nights

One night, split four ways.

A brand, a producer, a bar and isitfunky put on one night together and each carry the part they're allowed to. Guests book a ticket the bar sells, or RSVP and buy at the bar. Creators bring the room and earn on isitfunky's share.

A brand (no alcohol)

Can cover: The food, the room styling, the merch, its share of the film. For an invite-only night, it can pay the bar directly for its guests.

Never: Announce drinks as 'free' or 'on us'.

A producer or importer

Can cover: The film and the ads (a flat fee to isitfunky). A tasting poured by its own rep: up to 50 ml per wine in Québec; a capped brand event paid straight to the bar in New York.

Never: Pay for glasses, give the bar bottles, or pay the bar.

The venue

Can cover: The room and the staff. It sells the tickets and every glass at its regular price, and can pour a 0.0% drink or a snack on the house.

Never: Discount or give away alcohol.

isitfunky

Can cover: The idea, the guest list, the check-in, the film, the creators. Paid in flat fees.

Never: Sell, buy or pay for a drink.

An example night (illustrative)
The format
40 guests, a Thursday, a natural wine bar in Montréal. Tickets sold by the bar at $35, including two glasses at its regular prices.
The brand
Food, merch and half the film: about $1,500, paid to the caterer, the printer and isitfunky.
The producer
A flat $1,000 to isitfunky for the film and the ads; its rep buys and pours a 50 ml tasting of the new cuvée.
The bar
Keeps every ticket and every glass sold, at its prices.
isitfunky
Keeps the flat fees and pays creators their commission from them.

Numbers are an example, not a quote. Every co-hosted night is checked before it’s announced: in Québec a producer’s promotion is filed with the RACJ at least 5 days before it goes out.

For investors

The social gift for a category that can't do promotions.

Bars can't buy customers with giveaway drinks: Québec bans discounts and giveaway-drink ads outright, and New York restricts them. A friend buying a friend a glass is how people already bring each other in. Gift a Glass puts that on a phone, with the bar as seller and isitfunky as the rails and the audience.

Money
Stripe Connect direct charges: every gift is a sale on the bar's own account at its regular price, so isitfunky never holds drink money. Pending Québec counsel's review and Stripe's approval for this model.
Redemption
A single-use code, optionally in Apple Wallet. Staff confirm it on any phone and ring it on the bar's own till: no POS integration needed to launch.
POS, later
Native redemption through the bar's own provider, one tested integration at a time. See the directory above: all candidates today.
Data
Who sends to whom, where, and whether they come back, with consent. Bars and partners see aggregates only.
Compliance as design
The bar sells at its usual price, person-to-person only, no 'free' language, 18+/21+ ID checks.

Index counts (23 Sep 2026), not signed partners. Pilot venues are chosen from it, starting with the ones we’ve checked in person.

Illustrative unit economics

Assumptions, not forecasts: 100 partner bars, 20 gifts a bar a week, every gift at the Montréal pilot price of C$28.00 with the optional C$3.38 isitfunky tip at its 20% default, before tax. Buyers can lower it or remove it, so this is a ceiling.

C$2,912,000

Gift volume a year (mostly to bars and staff)

C$351,520

isitfunky tips a year, if every buyer kept the 20% default

Plus what gifts pull in: the gift is the reason to walk in, not the whole bill. We don’t count that spend unless a venue’s own data shows it.

Status and risks
Stage
Pilot design. Not open to the public.
Legal
Québec counsel to confirm the gifting and agency structure, prepaid-card rules and alcohol advertising (RACJ); payment-provider approval for the exact model.
Adoption
Venues onboard to payouts and test redemption with their staff; the first come from the badge and crawl network.
Not included
No isitfunky-funded, brand-funded or supplier-funded drinks, ever. That's what keeps it legal.
