Redeem

We're the ledger, not the rail.

Every isitfunky product ends at the same moment: a member at a bar with a code. This is what happens next. No POS integration, no card networks, no new hardware. A code, a tap on any phone, and the bar's own bill number.

How it will work. No product that issues codes is open yet; the staff screen below is an example with a fictional bar.

The loop
  1. 1

    Member Gets a code

From an RSVP or a friend. No cash value.

  2. 2

Bar Taps and types the bill number

Any phone, from its own till

  3. 3

    isitfunky Counts

Visits by venue and date, reported in aggregate

The bar never touches our money and we never touch theirs. No money moves through isitfunky. Members pay the bar its posted price; the code only records the visit.

Why not integrate the POS on day one
Built, pilot
First — code + bill number
Zero integration. Staff open a link, tap once and type the bill number. We count visits; the bar keeps every sale. Works on any phone, in any bar.
After venue 20
Later — read the bar's own receipt
With the bar's permission we read the bill it already issued (Lightspeed K first in Montréal), so spend is counted without anyone typing it.
Phase 4
New York only — sponsor-funded card
New York only: a sponsor-funded card, where the bar rings a normal full-price sale. Not available in Canada.

In Québec every bill comes from a till certified by Revenu Québec, so we never touch the till. The bill number is enough to match a visit.

One honest caveat

We don't hold anyone's money, and in Québec isitfunky doesn't sell, buy or pay for alcohol. If that ever changes, a lawyer reads this page first.
