The thesis

01

An everyday purchase

Deodorant is bought again every month, in a natural category that has already produced large acquisitions.
02

An abundant, seasonal input

Pomace is 20–30% of every grape pressed for wine. The raw material is mostly composted, distilled or hauled away.
03

Relationships already in place

isitfunky maps the producers who make natural wine and the bars that pour it — the supply and the first shelf.

The shelf already exists

Caudalie's Vinofresh is a grape-based natural deodorant sold at Sephora. Its grape ingredients are grape water and juice — not skins, and not a named producer.

The upcycling playbook works

Eat Wasted puts rescued bread into pasta, sells direct and at Whole Foods, and names Noma and Eleven Madison Park on its site. Its sourcing is anonymous.

There's a seal for it

Upcycled Certified has covered cosmetics and personal care since 2021 — a third-party way to print the upcycled share.

The model

Namedprovenance.1Producersgive skins, get paid + named2Editionsone producer, one harvest3Bars & shopsstock it beside the bottle4Discoverycustomers find the maker

Every edition names a producer; every stick sold beside a bottle sends a customer back to that producer — which is the reason the next producer says yes.

Launch range

Two editions, each named for a wine aroma with a double meaning — easy to say across a bar counter, and easy to sell as a pair.

Edition 01 · The guy edition

Brett

The yeast behind barnyard and leather — and a guy's name. Inspired by a funky Loire Cabernet Franc: green pepper and a little barnyard.
Edition 02 · The girl edition

Clementine

A citrus fruit — and a girl's name. Inspired by a skin-contact white: dried apricot and orange peel.

Why isitfunky

Named provenance

Upcycled brands usually say “rescued.” Pit-Nat prints whose skins and which harvest — hard to copy without the producer relationships.

The graph is the supply chain

isitfunky maps 1,000+ proven venues and the producers they pour. The same relationships supply the skins and stock the shelves.

Editions create scarcity

One producer, one harvest, gone when it's gone. Collectible, the way the wine is.

Distribution through the rooms

Sold beside the bottle in bars that shape taste, and covered through isitfunky's series and fair content.

Unit economics

No invented numbers. These are the lines that matter and what decides each one.

Risks, stated plainly

Claims and regulation

Antibacterial or treatment claims turn a cosmetic into a drug. Pit-Nat says what it's made of and what it's for, nothing more.

Formulation

Red skins stain, powder can feel gritty, and oils go rancid. White-grape skins, fine sieving and a waterless base address each — to be proven in testing.

The name

“Pitrok Nat” already exists and “pit” names are crowded. A trademark search comes before any label.

Seasonality

Skins are pressed once a year per hemisphere. Drying and storing powder turns one harvest into a year of supply.

Focus

isitfunky's core business has no revenue yet. Pit-Nat stays near-zero cost until kitchen tests and the trademark search pass.
